Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid on Wednesday pledged that the government will not rest till the country is completely purged of the menace of terrorism and extremism.

“Our children represent our future and we will not allow anyone to mess with it,” the information minister said in a statement. He said that it was impossible to describe in words the torment being experienced by the bereaved families of the innocent martyrs. December 16 will always be remembered in Pakistan’s history as a black day, he added.

The information minister said that Pakistan’s army deserves glowing tributes for standing up to the scourge of terrorism.

He said that the Pakistani nation has sent a clear message across the world that terrorism has no place in our society, culture and religion. “The terrorists have no religion or ideology. They are a blot on the face of humanity,” Rashid said.
