The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) on Friday froze the Lahore Electric Supply Company’s (Lesco) accounts for tax recovery of Rs 400 million.

Sources privy to the board said that the company owed Rs 1.10 billion under sales tax for 2013-14 fiscal year (FY). The board froze Lesco’s accounts in National Bank of Pakistan to recover the pending dues. The board is making efforts to recover the rest of the amount. The FBR had served Lesco notices numerous times but to no avail.
