16 more food outlets sealed

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) during the ongoing crackdown against substandard foods sealed another 16 restaurants, stores, juice corners and naan shops.
According to PFA officials these food outlets and shops located in different areas of the city had unhygienic conditions, washroom inside kitchen area, presence of insects in cooked food, improper sanitation, open drains, poor personnel hygiene and workers working without medical certificates.
The raids were conducted by different town administrations and officials of Punjab Food Authority while fines were imposed on the spot. The teams also collected some samples of food item and sent them to labs for tests.
