The exports of readymade garments from the country increased by 4.10 percent during first four months (July-October) of the year 2015-16 as compared to same period of last year.
The exports during the period under review stood at $680.003 million while the exports during July-October 2014-15 were recorded at $653.203 million. On month-on-month basis, the exports of readymade garments also recorded increase of 12.89 percent in October when compared with the same month of last year.
The garments exports increased from $154.731 million in September 2015 to $174.405 million in October, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
On year-on-year basis, the readymade garments exports, however witnessed a slight decrease of 0.36 percent as it went down from $175.030 percent in October 2014 to $174.405 million in October, 2015. It may be mentioned here that the overall exports of the country witnessed decrease of 13.48 percent during first four months of current fiscal year as compared to same period of last year. The overall exports went down from $7.951 billion in July-October, 2014-15 to $6.878 billion in July-October, 2015-16.
