Sincere efforts afoot for resolving problems of paramedics: Salman

Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that sincere efforts are being made for service structure of lady health workers and for resolving problems of medical staff of class-IV.

Rafique said that he will soon hold a meeting with senior officers of Finance and other departments concerned for giving service structure to paramedics of scale 1 to 4 and resolving problems of lady health workers.

He said this while presiding over a meeting to review the steps regarding service structure of lady health workers and paramedics of class-IV at Civil Secretariat on Monday. Health Secretary Jawwad Rafique Malik, Director General Health Dr Amjad Shehzad, Additional Secretary Establishment Ijaz-ul-Haq, Deputy Secretary Shabir Ahmed, Additional Director General Mother and Child Programme Dr Pervaiz Imtiaz and other officers were present on the occasion. The meeting reviewed the progress vis-à-vis resolving problems of lady health workers and paramedics of class-IV.

Meanwhile, Rafique presided over a meeting with regard to repairing building and replacing roofs of De’Montmorency College of Dentistry (Dental Hospital). Principal Prof Hameed ul Waheed and Medical Superintendent Dr Mushtaq Alam as well as officers of the health department were present on the occasion.

The meeting was told that the estimates with regard to repair and replacement of roofs have been provided to Health Department according to which Rs 7 million will be spent on the repair and roofs of the building. Rafique directed that the work of repair and replacement of roofs should be started immediately and completed at the earliest.
