The investigation into the military police (MP) attack case has gotten a new angle as three eyewitnesses of the incident contacted the police. Police have now started preparing a rough sketch of the attackers with the help of eyewitnesses.

The military police in Karachi was attacked by unknown assailants as they opened fire on a MP vehicle during which two personnel were martyred. Police officials say that the armed men did not use their mobile phone before or after the attack.

Sindh Rangers Director General (DG) Major Bilal Akbar stated that the culprits of the attack would soon be apprehended. He further added that they would not allow terrorists to reorganise in the Karachi. On the other hand, the DG Rangers also stated that a fool proof security arrangement had been made for the upcoming local government (LG) polls in Karachi and citizens should come out and cast their votes without any fear.

A 9-member committee headed by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Dr Jameel was formed earlier to probe the attack on military police during a high-level meeting of the law enforcement agencies in Karachi.
