The customs court on Tuesday returned the passport of supermodel Ayyan Ali after she submitted bail papers and surety bonds of Rs 2 million.
The court accepted the documents of personal guarantee, for which she had submitted Rs 1 million and surety bonds of Rs2 million.
The supermodel expressed her pleasure and thanked the judiciary and media, adding that she respected the courts. She was optimistic that she would get justice. Ayyan expressed the hope she would win the currency smuggling case.
Ali was arrested by Customs officials from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, on March 14 after 506,800 dollars were recovered from her luggage.
