Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah on Tuesday said that the ruling party should apologise to the nation for not fulfilling its promise of ending power outages within three months.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader talked to the media persons after laying foundation stone of solar-powered motor pump in Patni near Sukkur. Khursheed Shah said oil prices dipped in international market but the benefit was not transferred to the grassroots. He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had vowed to end power outages within three months and now the government had pushed their promise to 2018. The opposition leader said that the government failed to keep a balance between salaries and inflation. Any product which was unaffected by inflation was of no use for the public, he added.
He said the prime minister gave a “lollypop” to the people every time petroleum products’ prices plunged in the international market. Shah demanded of the government to apologise to the nation for not coming true to its promises. He said the much-hyped Nandipur power project did not function a single day.
