Dubai-based Indian millionaire Yogesh Mehta has just spent a whooping £14million on his son Rohan Mehta’s wedding in Florence, Italy.
Yogesh, also called Yogi, took to Twitter to break the news last week:
Rohan Mehta reportedly married Roshni — a London-raised owner of a fashion company — in the company of over 500 guests in a lavish ceremony.
Rohan is the only son of Yogesh Mehta, owner of Petrochem — a Dubai-based chemical distributing company he founded in 1995. After setting up his business in the Middle East, he has reportedly amassed a sum of $623million.
According to Daily Mail, the three-day wedding kick started on Wednesday with guests flown to Italy from all parts of the world. The entrepreneur made sure his guests stayed at some of Florence’s top hotels.
There was dancing, food, music and performances to keep the guests entertained throughout the three-day event.
Like any traditional Indian bride, Roshni showed off an intricate henna design on her hands.
The bride arrived at the event holding hands of the young flower girls.
Friends and family members wore elaborate clothing to fit the occasion.
Celebrations were planned to have the groom arrive on an elephant but the city’s council objected to the idea citing health and safety issues and animal welfare concerns.
But that didn’t cause any hindrance to the festivities. The groom arrived atop his friends’ shoulders amid a sea of pink turbans.
The excited father even tweeted pictures of the bride and groom on their wedding day:
Talk about going all out! The only thing missing were ‘pure diamond rings‘ distributed to the guests.
