Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood has said that approval has been given for providing land for the setting up of Information Technology University in Lahore Knowledge Park.
The IT university will be constructed over an area of about 100 acres in the park. The Board of Directors of Lahore Knowledge Park after a briefing by Dr Umer Saif decided to give the land required for the IT university project in two phases.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of Board of Directors of Lahore Knowledge Park, here on Friday.
Higher Education Secretary Irfan Ali and other members were also present on the occasion. The minister said that in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Board of Directors of Lahore Knowledge Park Company, the IT university is also being constructed on the pattern of other international universities. He said that this university will be a state-of-the-art university and will pave the way for arrival of other international standard universities. He said that Lahore Knowledge Park is revolutionary idea to put the country on the road to progress and prosperity through promotion of knowledge-based economy and the blending of applied sciences and the corporate sector.
