At least one Frontier Corps soldier was killed and two others injured when unidentified militants attacked a security checkpost in Mohmand Agency on Thursday.
According to security sources, some unidentified militants crossed border from Afghanistan and attacked Sheikh Baba checkpoint in Safi tehsil with heavy weapons, killing on FC man and injuring two others.
They said the attackers fled to Afghanistan after retaliatory fire from law enforcers. The injured soldiers were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar through a chopper.
Pakistan Army has been engaged in a grand operation, named “Zarb-i-Azb,” against Taliban militants in the country’s tribal areas following a Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan-claimed attack on Karachi in June last year.
