Railway ministry has approved Rs 30 million for renovation and decoration of railway colonies in Rawalpindi.
The dilapidated quarters of Railway colonies will be repaired, white washed, painted and renovated out of this amount.
Railway Rawalpindi had sought funds from railway ministry six months before for renovation, reconstruction and painting the dilapidated quarters in railway colonies and the formal approval has been accorded for release of these funds.
Railway employees have demanded of DS Railway that first of all renovation of quarters for lower grade employees be ensured l as the roofs of their quarters continue to seep during rains and they may collapse any time if immediate repair is not carried out.
