Judge Islamabad High Court, Mr. Justice Aamer Farooq has empathically advised the District and Sessions Judges, Addl. District and Sessions Judges to seek guidance from Hazrat Umar (RA)’s historic letter, written to one Qazi, to provide inexpensive and expeditious justice to the people.

He expressed these views in the certificate awarding ceremony at the conclusion of a one-week training course on “‘New Laws” at the Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad, on Saturday.

He said, “The function of the judge is to decide disputes in accordance with law. Ours are courts of law and we have to administer “swift” and “fair” justice to the litigant public.”

He also enlightened the participants with the key principles of interpretation of law.

Presenting his welcome speech and an overview of the training course, Mr. Fakhar Hayat, Director General of the Academy said, “Learning of new knowledge and information and the acquisition of new skills is imperative to keep pace with this ever-changing world. This one week course was designed with this purpose in mind.   It is hoped that you would have found this course, including a two-day workshop in collaboration with the Legal Aid Society (LAS), Karachi, on “gender and minorities issues “very useful for you.

In the end, the chief guest awarded certificates to 25 District and Sessions Judges, Additional District and Sessions Judges- four of them females- from all over Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir in the ceremony.
