Barrister Zafar Ullah Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister said that Federal Government will present the Right to Information (RTI) bill in next session of the parliament.

He was addressing a seminar which was organized by Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI), says a press release here on Thursday.

Senator Mian Ateeq said that MQM fully support the enactment of Federal Right to Information Bill.

Amer Ejaz, Executive Director CPDI said that it is unfortunate that present government has delaying to table in the parliament right to information bill approved by Senate Committee on Information and Broadcasting on 15 July 2014.

Centre for Law and Democracy, a Canada based civil society organization that ranks international right to information laws has rated it to be top law in the world if adopted in its present shape.

Despite the political consensus on the issue of right to information legislation, the right to information bill approved by Senate Standing Committee has not been enacted yet.

He said that CPDI demands federal government to repeal the FOI Ordinance 2002 and enact the Federal Right to Information Bill.
