Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) has strongly contradicted the allegations of the ANP Senator Sitara Ayaz regarding the Peshawar Bab-e-Khyber Flyover project in Hayatabad saying that neither the pace of work on the project was slow nor were there any irregularities as alleged by her.
In a rejoinder, the PDA authority said the allegations of the ANP Senator published in a section of the press were totally baseless and unfounded.
PDA maintained that certain interest groups were out to sabotage the said project which was going on with total fairness and efficiency. It clarified that the contract for the project had been given to NLC, an organ of the federal government.
Since the NLC was an organization of the federal government, Regional Tax Office Rawalpindi had exempted it from tax in a letter issued on May 11.
Total cost of the project is Rs 1,772.492 million rupees and a sum of Rs 580 million has been given to the NLC so far and almost 80 per cent of the work has already been accomplished, PDA said.
