The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) has expressed concern over the step-motherly treatment with the industrial sector of Punjab by reducing gas supply.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Chaudhary Nawaz said the industrial sector of other provinces were getting gas round the clock while in Punjab the industrial sector was getting gas only for six hours.

He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should take notice of this unfair treatment and take necessary measures for the fair distribution of gas across the board.

Meanwhile, Senior Vice President Syed Zia Alam Dar Hussain said the value-added textile sector was busy to fulfill its Christmas orders and at this crucial time the gas suspension would create problems for this sector. He said Pakistani exports were already declining due to different reasons and now the gas suspension would add to their miseries further reducing textile exports. He said the government should immediately intervene to save further decline in exports.
