The preparations for local bodies elections in Islamabad have entered into final phase as Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday started the process of printing ballot papers for local bodies elections in federal capital.
All the political parties are ardently contesting in LB polls to snatch the victory as the elections will be held on as many as 650 seats in 50 union councils on November 30 while results will be declared on the 3rd of December.
According to details, at least 42 lac ballot papers in three different colors will be printed while ECP official told the media that more than 6 lac voters have been registered so far. He said that green papers will be for chairman and vice chairman posts, white for general counselor while the pink colored ballot papers would be reserved for women.
Earlier, the contedsting candidates received their respective electoral symbols from ECP. Security personnel have also been directed to maintain the law and order situation in the metropolis.
According to sources, CCTV cameras and deployment of Pakistan Army soldiers would be ensured on the day of polling.
