Criticises govt for birth of a child on the hospital stairs; demands army deployment in next phases of LG polls

PTI Punjab Organizer Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Tuesday demanded the deployment of army in next phases of LG elections and stated that rulers’ attitude towards opponents was even worse than a dictator’s.

Talking to delegations and party workers who called on him on Tuesday, Sarwar severely criticised the PML-N government for birth of a child on the stairs of a hospital in Sheikhupura on Tuesday.

“PML-N needs to learn democratic norms. Birth of children in corridors and stairs of hospitals is a slap on the face of rulers making tall claims of good governance,” Sarwar said.

He said that army should be deployed in the remaining two phases of the local government elections in the backdrop of recent wave of violence in the first phase of LG elections.

Chaudhry Sarwar expressed full hope of victory in future elections. He said that the masses were trapped in a vicious cycle of inflation and any increase in gas tariff would make their lives more miserable.

“If you cannot make the life of public easy, then at least don’t make it worse,” he said. “PTI workers are being targeted and killed under a planned effort by PML-N goons and the brutalities political activists are facing in this so-called democratic government are worse than those of dictators,” he continued.

PTI’s Deputy Punjab Organizer Omar Sarfaraz Cheema was among those present on the occasion.

Sarwar warned the ruling party against using violence as a tool against political opponents. He said that Punjab government was spending heavy amounts on advertisements but could not provide adequate basic facilities such as hospitals and medicines to the citizens. After the first phase of the LG elections, he said, the government had been exposed and army must be deployed inside and outside polling stations on polling days in upcoming phases of local bodies polls.
