Fake degree holder Umer Shah has been appointed General Manager (GM) of budget and finance in National Highways Authority (NHA), sources said on Sunday.
According to sources, this appointment was made by Chairman NHA and Secretary Communication Shahid Ashraf Tarar while exercising his special powers.
The appointment and promotion of Umer Shah was severe violation of rules and regulations of establishment division and country’s laws.
“Umer Shah was appointed in Basic Pay Scale (BPS-17) on political basis in NHA, however he was terminated for holding fake degree and directed him to return Rs. 2 lac and 97 thousand”, sources added and maintained that Public Accounts Committee (PAC) had taken notice of his fake degree and PAC itself had verified it from Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Sources further said that Shah was expelled from service for having fake degree of Bachelor of Arts (BA) and NHA authorities have ordered him to reappear in the examination of BA; however Umer Shah then submitted fake degree with the office.
Sources revealed that PAC ordered ministry of communication to identify the authority allegedly involve in the appointment of fake degree holder Shah on this lucrative slot. Secretary Communication and Chairman instead of conducting inquiry of degree of Umer Shah, he appointed him as GM finance and budget.
Online, attempted to contact with Ashraf Tarar, secretary communication, repeatedly to know his stance in this regard but could not succeeded.
It is pertinent to mention here that Tarar is the close relative of former President of Pakistan Rafiq Tarar and Minister of State for health services Saira Afzal Tarar.
