PTI worker’s killing: PML-N’s Abid Sher Ali, MPA Tahir Jamil, 28 others booked

Police on Sunday booked Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Mian Tahir Jamil and 28 others for allegedly killing a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker and wounding five others during Saturday’s local government (LG) elections in Faisalabad.

PTI worker Zakir Hussain, who lodged the complaint with the D-Type Colony Police Station, alleged that the PML-N workers opened fire when he stopped them from snatching electoral results. He further alleged that the firing was carried out at the behest of MPA Tahir Jamil and Abid Sher Ali.

Reports said PTI worker Mubashir was fatally injured in the firing, and later succumbed to his injuries.

A case under Sections 302, 324, 148, 149, 109 and 7 ATA has been registered against Abid Sher Ali, Tahir Jamil and the others, with no arrest till the filing of this report.
