As many as four newly-confirmed judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC) took oath of office on Thursday with LHC Chief Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik administering the oath.
Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi, Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmad, Justice Shahid Karim and Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf took oath in a ceremony held at LHC judges’ lounge. Registrar LHC Tariq Iftikhar Ahmad conducted the proceedings.
Senior Puisne Judge Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Chief Justice Designate Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, Judges working at Principal Seat, federal and provincial law officers, senior lawyers, officers of the LHC and families of the newly confirmed Judges attended the ceremony.
President Mamnoon Hussain acting upon the advice of the prime minister approved postings of eight LHC judges on recommendations of the judicial commission and parliamentary committee. Four newly confirmed judges took oath of office on Wednesday.
