After buildings of 96 schools were declared dangerous in district Rawalpindi, the Punjab government has allocated funds amounting to Rs313 million for repair and reconstruction of dilapidated buildings as soon as possible.
The district government has declared as many as 20 school buildings highly dangerous in the Rawalpindi city, six in Taxila, 15 in Gujjar Khan, 19 in Kahuta, 12 in Kallar Syedan, 15 in Murree and eight in Kotli Sattian.
A source in the education department claimed that funds amounting to Rs7.2 million has been allocated for rebuilding Government Boys High School Dhandha, Rs7.4 million for Christian High School Raja Bazaar, Rs6.4 million for Government Pehlvi High School Faizabad, Rs5.3 million for Mohra Darogha Girls High School, Rs2.7 million for Adhwal Girls High School, Rs2.7 million for Government Boys Primary School Gorakh Pur, Rs5.7 million for Primary Boys School Harawan, Rs2.7 million for Primary Boys School Kot Lakhan, Rs2.9 million for Primary School Dhok Zer, Rs3.4 million for Government Girls Primary School Karor, Rs2.7 million for Government Boys School Thalian Khurd, Rs2.9 milliion for Government Girls Primary School Chakra, Rs7.4 million for Government Girls School Chak Khas and Rs3.3 million for Government Girls High School Dhok Kala Khan.
The source claimed that work on the repair and maintenance of school building will soon start.
