Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Shangla on Tuesday afternoon to meet earth quake affectees and review relief efforts.
During a briefing following his arrival, the PM was informed that at least 49 people lost their lives in Shangla during the quake.
He was also told that over 200 relief and rescue workers are participating in efforts in Shangla, adding that tents are being provided to the affectees.
During the briefing, the prime minister was further told that all blocked roads to the area were opened last night, however, settlements are spread all over Shangla which is causing difficulty in relief efforts.
Following the briefing, PM Nawaz said that calculations to overcome losses of properties and belongings of the affectees should be done on an immediate basis.

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan and Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Asghar Nawaz accompanied the PM.
