After Geeta’s return to India, Pakistan’s High Commission in India has expressed hope that India will reciprocate by freeing Pakistani prisoners languishing in Indian jails.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, and his wife are hosting Geeta and the Edhi family this evening at a reception at the Pakistani High Commission building in New Delhi, said the High Commission.

Representatives of the Pakistani High Commission, Press Attaché Manzoor Ali Memon and Political Counsellor Ayesha Ahsan, were also present at the airport to receive Geeta when her flight landed in New Delhi.

Geeta, the deaf-mute girl who was stranded in Pakistan for over a decade, arrived in New Delhi today to reunite with the people she believes are her family.
