The 972nd Ghusal ceremony of the mazar of Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al-Hajveri also known as Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh was held at Data Darbar Complex on Friday.
Provincial Ministers Mian Atta Muhammad Manika, Bilal Yasin, Members National Assembly Pervaiz Malik and Amin-ul-Hasnat as well as Hussain Dar and former cricketer Javed Miandad along with a large number of devotees gave ghusal to the mazar with five maund of rose water.
Auqaf and Religious Affairs Secretary Nayyar Iqbal, Auqaf Director General Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari and other senior officers also attended the ceremony while devotees and people were also present in large numbers. After the ghusal ceremony, special prayers were offered for safety and solidarity of Pakistan, unity of Muslim Ummah and success of operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Talking to devotees, Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Mian Atta Muhammad Manika said that the mazar of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh in Lahore is a source of blessing for the people of the city as well as the whole country. He said that Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh and other saints gave the message of Islam to several generations of people of the subcontinent.
He said it was due to the efforts of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh and other spiritual leaders that Islam spread in the subcontinent and the oppressed segment of the society got respect and dignity. He said that best facilities had been provided at the Data Darbar Complex for the devotees so that they could have a peaceful spiritual atmosphere. The minister further said that the Auqaf Department and the district government had made foolproof arrangements for safety of life and property of the visitors.
