Advisor to the Chief Minister for Information and Higher Education, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani Friday said around 7000 police personnel were deployed for security of mourning processions and azadars to avert any untoward incident during Ashura Moharram.
Mustaq Ghani also reviewed security arrangements made for the central procession taken out from Hussainia Hall Imam Bargah Peshawar Cantonment and expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements.
Ghani said Pak Army and Frontier Constabulary would remain standby while about 7000 police personnel were deployed for security of Alm and Zuljinah processions in Peshawar.
Emergency has been imposed in hospital and staff was directed to remain present besides special teams of health department, Rescue 1122 and Ambulance services, he added.
Extra security arrangements have been made in Peshawar, DI Khan, Hangu and Kohat districts after these districts were declared most sensitive for Ashura Moharram.
