KP lawmakers term PM’s visit to US highly successful

Lawmakers of Khyber Pakthunkhwa (KPK) Assembly have termed the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to the United States and his meeting with President Barak Obama as highly productive and successful and hoped further strong bilateral relations between the two countries.

The lawmakers said that Nawaz Sharif has taken a bold and clear stance on international and regional issues by appraising the US administration of his government’s reforms agenda for sustained economic growth, promoting trade and investment, energy requirements and counter terrorism endeavours.

Member Provincial Assembly and PML-N leader Akbar Hayat Khan told APP, the PM’s visit to the U.S has remained highly productive, fruitful and successful in all respect. The visit provided an opportunity to project Pakistan’s view points on regional and international issues in international media.

The Primer, he said, held in-depth discussion with senior leadership of US administration on regional and international issues and protected Pakistan’s interest besides conveying our concerns regarding India’s repeated violations on Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary.

MPA Rushad Khan said PM’s successful visit was appreciated at all levels including diplomatic and trade, business and investment circles.

He said president Obama has commended the leadership of Nawaz Sharif for strengthening and consolidating democratic institutions besides his government’s reforms that was an honour for PML-N.

MPA Akbar Hayat Khan said bilateral relations of Pakistan and US have been improving because of the strategic dialogues between the two countries and the recent visit of Prime Minister would greatly help in understanding our view point on regional and international issues.

He said the PM’s visit will result in further strengthening Pak-US bilateral relations besides people to people contacts and parliamentary exchange programs.

He said Pakistani nation and security forces had rendered matchless sacrifices in war against terror and its recognition by the US President who honoured our security forces sacrifices in Operation Zarb e Azab and other operations, was testimony towards this fact. He said the Prime Minister has boldly highlighted the Kashmir issue with US administration as per wishes of aspirations of Kashimris people.

He said inclusion of Kashmir issue in the joint declaration was a big diplomatic achievement of the present elected Government. Without resolution of the core issue of Kashmir, he said, the dream of lasting peace in the region could not be materialized.
