Station House Officer (SHO) and five others police personnel were indicted on Tuesday in the Model Town case in which at least 14 Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers were shot dead in police firing.
The accused policemen appeared before Anti terrorism court Lahore. During the hearing, the court indicted the six police officers including suspended SHO Aamir Saleem in the Model Town case. The accused police officers denied committing the crime. The court summoned witnesses on November 15.
Earlier, government formed a joint investigation team (JIT) to investigate the June 17 massacre last year which left at least 14 workers of PAT dead while scores of others were injured in police crackdown outside PAT Chief Tahir-ul-Qadri’s secretariat in Model Town.
