A guard of an oil well was killed and another injured by attackers in Gujar Khan area of Rawalpindi district.
Police officials said four unidentified attackers attempted to enter the oil well-16 and when the security guards stopped them, they opened fire, leaving one security guard dead and another wounded. The assailants had fled before a police party reached the crime scene.
The injured guard was shifted to a hospital for treatment. Identity of the victim could not be ascertained immediately. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
