Supreme Court of Pakistan judge Dost Muhammad Khan on Saturday said that terrorism was unacceptable in all its forms in this beautiful world, observing that the curse of terrorism was a global issue but Pakistan bore the brunt of it.

He expressed these views during the certificate-awarding ceremony at the conclusion of a six-day National Training of Trainers Workshop for Judges, Prosecutors and Investigators on Global Legal Framework against Terrorism and Relevant Criminal Justice Response Measures, at the Federal Judicial Academy.

Justice Khan said, “The UN is the best forum to counter terrorism where the member countries share their strategies and best practices to counter terrorism and we all have to resolve to take pragmatic steps individually and collectively to prevent and combat this scourge competently and effectively.”

Regarding the capacity and coordination of relevant organisations, he said, “We must have to build the capacity of our key players of criminal justice system and other relevant institutions in accordance with international practices.”

He further said that the state organisations must have to increase their coordination to effectively confront and eliminate this menace, once and for all.

He appreciated the UNODC capacity –building efforts for arranging the national training workshop in the academy. Lamenting the disastrous impact of terrorism, he said that the curse of terrorism had ruined “our generation”. It has brought in psychological problems. Fear in the hearts of people of all age groups and gender, trauma, depressions and confusion like socio-psycho problems have alarmingly increased and these would continue to increase in society”.
