As many as 1911 polling stations would be set up for holding free, fair and transparent local government (LG), elections in district Rawalpindi.
Separate polling stations would be established for male and female voters,District Returning Officer Muhammad Javed Khan said, talking to APP.
The elections would be held according to schedule given by the Election Commission (EC) in the first week of December.
The arrangements are being finalized in different official and other buildings to facilitate the voters, he added. The concerned staff including Presiding Officers, will ensure smooth polling in their respective areas.
To a question, he said strict security measures would be made for the upcoming local bodies’ elections. The total registered voters in Rawalpindi district are 2684112 with 1448933 male and 1235179 female voters.
