The alarming increase in number of dengue fever confirmed cases show that the concerned authorities in the Punjab government has failed in putting any check on its spread.

According to EDO health office officials, to date, a total of 1500 patients have been tested positive for dengue fever in Allied Hospital that has set a new record as compared to number of cases of the infection in last four years.

Another death from dengue fever was reported on Thursday at the Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi.

The authorities said that the reason for the rise in dengue fever cases is lack of arrangements, adding that 1200 sanitary workers were hired to kill dengue larva this year.
