- Justice Jamali hails services of outgoing SC judge Sarmad Jalal Usmani
Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali has said that for the supremacy of law and order it was important that all institutions work within their jurisdictions.
He made these remarks Monday while addressing the full court reference in connection with the retirement of senior Supreme Court judge Sarmad Jalal Usmani. The event was attended by judges, senior lawyers and the attorney general for Pakistan (AGP).
Justice Jamali said that disputes would not emerge if the national institutions did not exceed their assigned limits. He said the supremacy of constitution and law could bring betterment in society and help end social evils.
He lauded the services of Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani for the country, legal fraternity and people during his tenure.
Meanwhile, a nine-member delegation of the Rawalpindi High Court Bar Association, headed by its President Sheikh Muhammad Suleman, called on Chief Justice Jamali on Monday.
The delegation thanked the chief justice for sparing time for them and discussed with him the various issues relating to the field of administration of justice.
Talking to the delegates, the chief justice stressed for close cooperation between the bench and the bar, saying they were an integral part of the same system. He also assured the delegates of resolution their issues at the earliest.
