Steps afoot to complete e-policing projects

Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Haider Jamali was informed at a meeting at central police office on Sunday about the steps taken for different plans of e-policing project and welfare of police.

The IGP directed for formation of central electronic sheet at the central police office and swift completion of the service data of police officers and constables. He also directed DIGs of all Ranges to forward necessary details to Director Information Technology (IT) CPO Branch, so that human resource management system could be completed within a month.

The IT director told the meeting that the service data computerization of Sindh police had been completed by more than 35 percent while the remaining work would be completed very soon.

The meeting was informed that the electronic policing projects would ensure issuance of online FIR, criminals record management system conservation, issuance of e-driving license, video conferencing system, and command and control system, and it is being ensured to be implement the same.

During the meeting, directions were issued to give responsibilities to senior police officers to monitor the security during Muharram through monitoring system from central command and control center, so as to ensure the quick response of police anywhere. Police mobiles fully equipped with modern cameras should be deployed in the head and tail of the Muharram procession, he added.

It was told in the meeting that over Rs 500 million have been paid to the heirs of martyred and injured policemen for their treatment while steps had been taken for allotment of plots to the heirs of martyred policemen, and provision of free education to their children at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST).

The Sindh welfare AIG said in the meeting that police hospitals and dispensaries were working under police welfare project in 12 different districts of Sindh that included Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Thatta, while all possible steps were being taken to upgrade these hospitals with modern medical appliances. The IG directed officials to take steps to ensure modern and effective medical facilities to police officers and constables.
