Two robbers were killed in exchange of fire with police when chased here on Thursday.
Police said that it got information that a two-member gang of robbers was engaged in committing robbery in a house situated in jurisdiction of Dhourkot police station in tehsil Uch Sharif of Bahawalpur. After getting information, heavy contingent of police reached the scene and cordoned off the area.
The robbers upon sight of police started firing and tried to flee from the scene. The police chased the fleeing robbers which led to an encounter in which both robbers were killed and arms and looted valuables were recovered from their possession.
The bodies of robbers were shifted to hospital. Police said that the killed robbers were wanted by police in several cases of robberies and other crimes.
