Police arrested 236 suspects belonging to 94 gangs and recovered items worth more than Rs 20 million from them during the last month.
Police sources said that they had also traced 274 cases against the gangsters. Police arrested 330 proclaimed offenders and 1,023 court absconders while 440 cases were registered against 440 accused for illicit weapons. Police also recovered a Kalashinkove, 24-rifles, 33-guns, 404-revolvers and pistols, eight daggers and 32,338 rounds.
In the action against drug dealers, 557 cases were registered and 566 culprits were arrested with 41 kg heroine, 137 kg chars and 4,850 bottles of liquor. Police registered 107 cases against gamblers while 646 accused were arrested with an amount of more than Rs 0.6 million.
As many as 506 cases were registered against 512 culprits over various violations of law, the sources said.
15 gangs busted in Faisalabad
Police claimed to have arrested 39 members belonging to 15 gangs during the last month.
A spokesman for police said that police also recovered items worth Rs.6.24 million, including a car, 16 motorcycles, six LCDs, three laptops, two bulls and five mobile phones.
Police also seized three Kalashnikovs, one gun, two revolvers, 17 pistols and hundreds of rounds of ammunition from the accused.
