As many as 1,475 candidates will contest upcoming LB polls for 20 union committees, 47 union councils, two municipal committees and four town committee seats of Larkana District.

Local bodies election 2015 is expected to be held in Larkana on October 31. As many as 2,086 persons had filed nomination papers out of which 625 withdrew in favour of their candidates, willfully or forcibly.

Some 523 polling stations will be established in the entire district where 5,85,385 registered voters will cast their votes for which 1,448 cops, 300 Rangers personnel and 668 volunteers will be deployed for maintaining law and order.

The election campaign has already started by the candidates and there is general perception that the PPP candidates will face tough contest in whole district against Awami Ittehad nominees and independent candidates.

Political analysts say that winning these elections has become a test case for the ruling party as their performance in the home district of Bhutto leaders has remained too poor. They say voters are not satisfied with them because of bad governance, poor uplift, alleged selling of government jobs, massive prolonged electricity load shedding and other issues.
