Sindh gov’t launches SIAPEP for farmers

The Sindh government has launched the Sindh irrigated agriculture productivity enhancement project (SIAPEP) with assistance of the World Bank at a cost of more than 30 billion rupees.

The aim of the project is to improve agriculture productivity among small and medium farmers. Under the project, the government would line 5,500 water courses. An amount of over 922 million rupees has been earmarked for providing more than 1,000 lasers for land leveling and deep ripping. More than one billion rupees will be spent on improved agriculture production technologies.
