Like other parts of the province, the Wild Life Department (WLD) Kohat has also geared-up its activities against illegal hunting of birds.
Divisional Forest Officer Wild Life Kohat, Sajjad Ali, has formed various raid parties for this.
Under the control of Wild Life Officer Rahmatullah Khan, during its raids on dams and other hunting prohibited areas, they caught dozens of people for violating the Wild Life Act (WLA) 2015 and fined them on the spot, says an official handout released here on Sunday.
It may be recalled that few days back, Sub Divisional Officer Wild Life Kohat Shabir Ahmad, during the raids in Darwazai Dam and surroundings of Kohat District, also caught more than 20 influential people for illegal hunting of birds along-with hunting weapons and fined them under the WLA 2015.
The department, during the last few weeks has received more than Rs. O.1 from fines so far. The provincial government has strictly directed the WLD to ensure implementation of WLA 2015 in letter and spirit and to accept no political or any other pressure in this respect.
The authorities concerned warned that raids against illegal hunters will be continued in future also and no one would be spared who so ever strong.

Every year, millions of birds are shot out of the sky . We could easily stop this pathetic job with your help, we can stop this. If we want to stop it with unity, it would not be a hard task.
