The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Health and Medical Services Department has decided to keep the heatstroke relief centres, established across the metropolis, open on Sunday (today), in view of the current heatstroke situation.
Health and Medical Services Senior Director Dr Salma Kausar, while talking to the media, said the 42 heatstroke relief centres established to cope with the situation arising from the warm weather would remain open on Sunday.
As per reports, a total of 20 heatstroke cases have been reported in KMC-run hospitals, including Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Sobhraj Maternity Hospital, in the last two days. On Saturday, another heatstroke-affected patient was hospitalised.
