The ongoing dispute between Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and PIA Airlines Pilots Association (PALPA) has led to cancellation of at least eleven flights on Friday, causing immense problems for the passengers.
The dispute started when the Civil Aviation Authority revoked licenses of two pilots, forcing the PALPA to announce non-cooperation with PIA authorities.
According to PIA spokesperson, talks are underway with PALPA on the Working Agreement.
According to sources, PK-302 flight from Karachi to Lahore, PK-303 from Lahore to Karachi, PK-295 from Rahim Yar Khan to Abu Dhabi were cancelled on Friday while PK-247 from Lahore to Damam, PK702 from Manchester to Islamabad were delayed by one hour and PK-584 from Karachi to Dera Ismail Khan faced two-hour delay.
As per PALPA’s directives, the flying crew has not delayed any Hajj flight but reports speak of massive delays at Jeddah Haj terminal.
Meanwhile, passengers have been advised to call 111-786-786 for getting information about their flights.
The PIA has also activated its call centers to inform passengers about any delay in the flights through SMS and phone calls.
