The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Sindh home secretary and Rs 5,000 on SHO Pak Colony police station for not forming a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to locate the whereabouts of a missing person.

The SHC bench headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was hearing a petition seeking whereabouts of one Qazi Nazeer. The court had earlier directed the home department and police to form JIT and tell the court about the whereabouts of Qazi Nazeer but they failed to do so. The court showed its displeasure over not compiling of its order and directed the home department to furnish JIT report within two weeks. The court also directed police high ups to take departmental action against DSP Nadeem Akhter for his falsification before the court.
