The Cabinet of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) headed by its President, Fazal-e-Haq Abbasi and comprising other office bearers called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali here on Wednesday.
Welcoming the SCBA Cabinet, the CJP said that there is a close nexus between Bench and bar and both are the integral part of the same system. He said it is a duty of Bench to dispense justice in accordance with law and constitution without fear and favour; while it is the duty of the Bar to assist the Bench in dispensation of justice to public at large.
Therefore, he said it is incumbent upon both of us to address their expectations and legal needs of people by deciding their cases expeditiously. For the cause of administration of justice, the role of Bar is very crucial and without the cooperation of Bar the goal of administration of justice cannot be fulfilled, he added.
The meeting was a working session between the Bench and the Bar to discuss the issues faced by the lawyers. The SCBA Cabinet assured the CJP full support and co-operation for the administration of justice. They discussed the problems faced by them. The CJP assured them to take steps to resolve their problems at the earliest.
