In a meeting with a delegation of a Chinese company which is constructing a gas power plant, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the provincial government was installing 1200MW gas power plants at three locations to overcome energy crisis.
He said these projects would be helpful in reducing electricity crisis.
He said all important affairs regarding the gas power projects had been finalised in a speedy and transparent manner as was done in the cases of previous projects.
Earlier, the chief minister presided over a meeting in which plantation and horticulture projects in all major cities of the province were discussed.
An approval was given to the operation of a double decker bus from Qaddafi stadium to food street for the promotion of tourism in the province.
The chief minister also directed to monitor river-flows after the recent spell of rains.
A delegation of Chinese investors associated with oil and gas sector met the chief minister and expressed their interest in investing in oil and gas sectors in Punjab.
Talking to the Chinese delegation, the CM said that relations between Pakistan and China had turned into useful economic contacts.
He welcomed the interest shown by the Chinese delegation in investment in oil and gas sectors in the province and assured that all facilities would be provided for this purpose. He directed the authorities concerned to consider setting up a separate department for oil and gas in Punjab.
