A robber was killed in an alleged encounter with a police team on Sunday, officials said, but his two accomplices managed to escape.
The incident took place near Katchery Road, where the police team reportedly came across the robbers who were fleeing after committing a robbery. As the police party tried to chase them down, an exchange of fire got underway. One robber was killed after 20 minutes of gunbattle. His accomplices managed to flee, however.
According to the officials, this bandit was wanted in a number of robbery cases and other crimes.
