Karachi – Our Bhai Correspondent: The call of the MQM to the citizens of Karachi to observe a strike in the wake of the arrests of its political workers led to a complete shutdown across Nine Zero.

“See the vast power of the MQM, which has its fingers on the beating pulse of the people of Karachi,” said party leader Farooq Sattar. “Our strike has led to a complete shutdown of at least an important part of the city.”

Though the strike was not observed by all parts of the city, there was routine activity in some parts of the city, namely, Karachi South, Karachi East, Karachi Central, Karachi West, Malir, Korangi and the Cantonments.

“True, the strike wasn’t observed in all parts of the city,” said Haider Abbas Rizvi, a party leader. “But it led to a shutter down within Gulberg Town. I mean, Federal B Area within Gulberg Town.”

“By that, I mean Azizabad, within Federal B Area,” he added. “And by that, I mean House #494/8, Block 8 in Azizabad.”

“I mean Nine Zero, okay? We managed to shut down Nine Zero at least, please stop laughing,” he urged the present reporters.
