Peshawar – Our PTI Correspondent: An emergency session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet was held recently at the residence of PTI leader Jehangir Khan Tareen.

“Several important issues were discussed,” said Health Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai, hunched over the table at the kitchen, where the meeting was held. “In principle, it was agreed that my ministry would get much needed funds.”

“Also, we needed to figure out how much money would be distributed to the district governments,” said Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, who, having missed out the opportunity to find a seat on the table, was sitting on a floor cushion.

“We would like the members of the press to know that we are releasing a press statement and there would be no more questions,” said Mahmood Khan, irrigation minister. The cabinet members were in a hurry to attend a lunch held at KP House because they were reportedly not given anything to eat.

When asked whether it was appropriate for the cabinet meeting of a province to be held in the kitchen of a party leader who held no office, Jehangir Tareen told reporters: “Of course. We had some family friends over, so the living room was occupied. The kitchen was the best choice.”
