MPA Saifuddin Khalid of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Sector 11 of Karachi on Friday.
According to police officials, six unidentified gunmen, riding on three motorbikes, fired four shots at Khalid’s vehicle.
Earlier on August 18, MNA Rashid Godil, another MQM leader, was critically injured when his vehicle came under an attack in Bahadurabad area.
Four unidentified gunmen, who came on bikes, had opened fire on Godil’s car when he was on his way to the party headquarters, Nine-Zero, for a meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He had received six bullets to his head, jaw and chest.
