The paramedical staff at the Jinnah Hospital continued their protest for the third consecutive day on Wednesday for an increase in salary at par with the other provinces.

As a result of the protest, outpatient departments (OPDs) at the hospital remained closed and no patient could be operated upon.

On Tuesday, doctors at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) ended their protest after two days boycott of OPDs and ward services after the spokesperson said the administration would review the salaries in other province and then increase the salaries and allowances accordingly.

The doctors, paramedics and other employees of the JPMC claimed they were entitled to health risk allowance equal to one basic salary, which was being paid to federal and provincial health employees except for Sindh.
