Chief of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, MNA Mr. Mehmood Khan Achakzai called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at Prime Minister House on Wednesday.
According to informed sources, matters relating to political and law and order situation in Balochistan came under detailed discussion. Achakzai’s party is a coalition partner in the Balochistan government and due to his efforts, the coalition was formed after which Dr Abdul Malik Baloch was made Chief Minister while Mr Achakzai’s elder brother was made provincial governor.
Of late there had been reports that Dr Malik Baloch will have to be replaced with PML-N’s provincial leader under the agreement. However political observers and security heads have been emphasising the continuity of Dr Malik Baloch as Provincial Chief Minister as his efforts to bring the estranged Baloch back to the national mainstream have been bearing fruits.
Though the official press release did not mention it, but the sources said political situation in Balochistan, dialogue with the estranged Baloch nationalists and surrender of weapons by militant groups was discussed.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of coalition government for its role in national reconciliation.
